General The Asheville Web Collective has established this policy and are providing it to you so that you can understand the manner in which we use your information and the efforts we use to protect it. We at the Asheville Web Collective are committed to protecting your online privacy. Personal Information We recognize the need for consumers to control the use and management of personal information. By personal information we mean information that can be used to identify or contact an individual. This includes a first and last name, a physical address, an email address, or a phone number. You can visit the Asheville Web Collective web pages without providing us with this type of information. (Exceptions to this are when you submit a request that we contact you or you submit an on-line order). Automatic Information Please note that the Asheville Web Collective use various technologies to collect information about types and versions of Internet browsers used when accessing our web servers. This information, and information about Internet IP addresses, as well as date and time web pages are visited are stored in various security and traffic logs. We review these logs, using statistical analysis, in an effort to track and predict traffic patterns and estimate resource needs. Unless we have been asked to identify technical problems or we suspect either fraudulent behavior or illegal conduct we do not trace specific user sessions. Supplemental Technologies The Asheville Web Collective web servers may use cookies, session identifiers, JavaScript™, and browser detection technology to provide consumers with a more pleasant online experience. Many browsers provide consumers with the ability to disable some or all of these technologies. Disabling these technologies, especially in the case of JavaScript™ will prevent you from using some web pages. Children We do not intend to collect personal information from anyone we know to be under 13 years of age. Security and Confidentiality The Asheville Web Collective take reasonable steps to ensure that your Personal Information is protected. We use industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting your data. The Asheville Web Collective utilize Versign™ SSL certificates where SSL is required. In addition, our web site service provider's data center makes use of multiple levels of redundant firewalls and uses database encryption. Internally, we limit access to Personal Information to those employees who we believe have reasonable need to use the information to provide products or services to you. Third Parties We sometimes partner with third parties to provide various services and products. We do not directly share your personal information with any third party vendor. When a user signs up for these services or products with a third party vendor on our site, the user is responsible for providing any personal information requested by the third party vendor. It is also against the Asheville Web Collective's policy to sell or trade Personal Information collected online. Note that, unless legally required to do otherwise, the Asheville Web Collective do not intend to sell or transfer Personal Information to third parties. If legally compelled to release Personal Information to a third party, the Asheville Web Collective may or may not notify customers of such release. Notification will be at the discretion of the Asheville Web Collective and will be based on the nature and conditions surrounding the release of Personal Information. Notifications Consumer notifications may be performed directly by the Asheville Web Collective or by our third party vendors with whom you have chosen to do business. When the Asheville Web Collective perform a notification it will be sent to the email address associated with your account. The Asheville Web Collective will send the email but we cannot guarantee delivery. You are responsible for providing a valid email address and for updating it as your address changes. The Asheville Web Collective may, depending on the importance and urgency of the notification, choose to contact you via telephone or postal mail. When doing so, we will use the phone number and/or address associated with your account or transaction. Modifications Periodically the Asheville Web Collective may make changes to this privacy policy. The History section, below, summarizes those changes and includes the current policy effective date. The Asheville Web Collective do not make any effort to notify consumers of privacy policy changes. You may view the current policy by returning to this web site. History The Asheville Web Collective first established an on-line privacy policy in December 2010. In January of 2011 the policy was updated to its current appearance to conform to the North Carolina Online Privacy Protection Act of 2007.
